No matter how healthy a seed is, if the conditions of the soil are not favourable, it will not make for rich produce. The same goes for the word of God and the human heart. If the word finds no home in us, we can barely bear the fruit. When the heart becomes too materialistic, it will not have the richness that is needed for the word to grow and bear fruit. However, when we ask, the grace of God is always available to turn a cold heart into a warm heart.
